Don’t sacrifice beauty on tight budget
If your budget does not allow for a total kitchen remodel, consider doing some things that can make you enjoy being in your kitchen. Small changes can have a huge impact.
These are my top 10 “cost-effective” solutions that can add beauty to any tired kitchen.
- Replace cabinet hardware (New knobs and pulls)
- Change outside hinges to inside hinges on cabinet doors
- Add under the cabinet lighting
- Change overhead lighting
- Add organization items to help manage lack of storage
- Roll out trays
- Pull out waste bins
- Cutlery & utility trays
- Change window coverings
- Update all countertop appliances
- Changing coffee pots, toasters, etc…to new updated matching ones
- Update your backsplash or add a backsplash
- Change out your old laminate countertop to a new laminate countertop
- Recondition, refinish or paint your cabinets
Being conservative does not mean you have to sacrifice beauty. Many of the items above are like adding new accessories to that favorite outfit of yours that puts a spring in your step. So, go on out there and get that new necklace, earrings, scarf and shoes. Soon your kitchen will give you that same feeling.
Your return on investment in the kitchen is much higher than any other investment in the home. Even minor updates can yield fantastic results. So what are you waiting for…love your kitchen!
